NIAA offers four levels of membership:
| Credentialed | Member who holds the National Intervener Credential after completing a training program through a university or college. | |
| Certified | Member who holds the NICE Certification. | |
| Associate | Member engaged in providing deafblind intervention, but not holding the National Intervener Credential or NICE Certificate. | |
| Supporter | Member who supports NIAA but is not engaged in serving as an intervener. |
